CCT Global Communications today announced that next week it will introduce WiMAX offering broadband wireless data service in the first instance.
WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability of Microwave Access) is a second generation protocol wireless digital communications system that allows for more efficient bandwidth use, interference avoidance, and is intended to allow higher data rates over long distances.
WiMAX can be used for wireless networking in much the same way as the more common Wi-Fi protocol. WiMAX will provide cost-effective broadband wireless access for hundreds of users from each base station.
